ALS Adventure Challenge at Fletcher's Challenge
ROC raises over $7,000 for youth programs
It was a beautiful morning at Westwood Lake last Friday as over 80 people tackled a gruelling 12k trail run in memory of Gavin Fletcher, local family man and sports colonist who died at a young age last year. Many families were out to participate in the 6k family walk as well that included cookies at the half way mark! John Loewen was the top Men's finisher with a time of 44:09 and Wendy Simms was the top Women's finisher with a time of 47:08. Dave Metcalfe was our lucky winner of a race entry into the 2nd Annual ALS Adventure Challenge. Runners of Compassion raised over $7,000 that will support their various youth programs in Nanaimo.
