On October 30, 2006 Wendy Magee of the ALS Society of BC gratefully accepted a $126,000 cheque from the Nilsson Foundation. The Nilsson Foundation is a North Shore based charity that raises funds for ALS research and local patient services by supporting the endeavors of the Vancouver Coastal Health ALS Clinic at GF Strong and the ALS Society of BC. The Nilsson Foundation organizes the annual ALS Adventure Challenge. The ALS Adventure Challenge includes weekly trail running and mountain biking clinics, along with kayaking lessons, an adventure racing seminar and wraps up with a 17km adventure race that the participants complete. This year was a record breaking year for the ALS Adventure Challenge and the Nilsson Foundation exceeding last year’s fundraising by $11,000!

Since 2004 the Nilsson Foundation has donated over $275,000 to ALS research and local patient services.
