What is the ALS Adventure Trek?
The ALS Adventure Challenge Trek is a training program designed to guide people of all ages and fitness levels to complete a 5km run or hike. We'll provide you with all your training and offer all the support you need to help you reach your goals. Once the training is complete and you're ready to race, you'll receive free entry into the ALS Adventure Trek component of the ALS Adventure Challenge. You pay nothing. We ask that each participant collect $350 to support ALS research and local patient services.

What's expected of you
- You will need basic gear such as a good pair of runners, and some other small mandatory items for the race.
- You will be given a training program. We highly recommend you follow the program to ensure you will be physically ready for the race
- Each participant will need to raise a minimum $350. 100% of proceeds will go to ALS research and patient care. You will be provided with tips to fundraising to help achieve your goals.
- Most importantly HAVE FUN!
The Training
You'll be provided with a training schedule with locations and directions prior to the start of the program. Training will be availablein Vancouver for all levels from the beginner to the seasoned runner. You will split up into groups based on your ability.

The Race
The ALS Adventure Trek consists of a
5km trail run or trek with various "mystery events" along the route. You will receive your map and race route on the day of the race - it's all about the adventure! You can expect to finish in
45 minutes to 1.5 hours. The race route will be flagged, marshalled and clearly marked.
You can race as:
- Solo runner or walker
- Team walker or runner (you must stay together during the entire course)
- Corporate team
