The ALS Adventure Challenge respects your personal privacy. The following statement is to inform you of our Privacy Policy and practices, and of the choices you can make about the way your information is collected online.
This policy applies to the ALS Adventure Challenge website only and does not apply to other companies' or organizations' websites to which we link. This privacy policy does not cover the personal data you choose to provide to unrelated third parties. Confidentiality
The ALS Adventure Challenge collects information about your for the purpose of providing the services outlined on this web site and will never use that information for any other commercial purpose. We aim to protect the confidentiality of our participants, volunteers and website visitors including all personal information supplied in the course of registering for events with us. Under no circumstances do we release or sell your personal information to third parties for any other purpose.
Data Collection
We track certain generic information with respect to visitor's use of our website. Information may include the number of unique visitors, the number of times they visit, and the areas on the website that they favor. We only use this type of data on a collective basis, in summary form, not on an individual basis. This data is used for click stream analysis to help better understand site usage, so that we can improve our service to you. We do not link information automatically logged by such means with personal data about specific individuals.
Subscribing to our Newsletter
We send email notifications and information only to users who have subscribed. Those notifications may be, but are not limited to, our newsletter, information on races and other upcoming events. These communications are sent to you directly by ALS Adventure Challenge. In order to receive the emailed information you must have subscribed via our website or registered for one of our races.
It is our intention to always allow you to unsubscribe. When you receive any newsletter or email and you want to unsubscribe, you can simply click the instant "unsubscribe" links at the bottom of each page.
Security of Personal Information
ALS Adventure Challenge uses GiftTool, a third party merchant for all online credit card transactions and donations. GiftTool has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under their control. All customer information and records of transactions are stored in an encrypted form and extensive security measures are in use to prevent unauthorized access to their database. GiftTool utilizes industry standard SSL 128-bit encryption when accepting credit card information during the online checkout process. In addition, they utilize the same encryption standard when transferring credit card data to an external fulfillment system. In addition to our online security efforts, reasonable steps are taken to protect your personal data offline, as well. All of your information is restricted in the ALS Adventure Challenge office.
Changes to This Policy
ALS Adventure Challenge reserves the right to change this statement at any time by posting revisions on the ALS Adventure Challenge Web site. This privacy policy is not intended to, and does not, create any contractual or other legal rights in or on behalf of any party. ALS Adventure Challenge will occasionally update this Privacy Policy in response to changing business circumstances and legal developments. The date at the top of this page will change to reflect the implementation date of the most recent updates to the policy.
